Our favorite getaway location

We have stayed here 3 times and will return again. Accommodations and service are outstanding. The spa is truly 5 star. The fitness center and pools are first rate as well. Highlands is a charming town with cute shops, and there are great hiking trails nearby

Excellent service

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Overall, the stay was fantastic. The service was excellent. We stayed in a cottage at the Lodge. It felt so clean and was very comfortable. The bed was heavenly and the heated bathroom floor was so luxurious. We spent time in the relaxation rooms at the Spa. We tried to book services, but were too late. Don't make our mistake. Book before you arrive. Even without a treatment there, it was worth a visit. The atmosphere was so relaxing and truly luxurious. Plus, I loved that there were device free areas! One minor disappointment was that the water in the bathroom sinks never got hot. The shower did and was great, but for washing my face, I prefer to use warmer water. The facial tissues were also very rough. This seems like a strange complaint, but I had a terrible cold and had to go buy my own. I feel like for the price of the room, small things like that should be top of the line. The two other things that were small and probably out of the control of the hotel had to do with the rain. First, the TV reception went out several times. I assume that this was because of the insane downpours. We had good reading, so we made the most of TV free time. Second, there was considerable flooding outside. Again, not really something the hotel could control, but if you stay when there is serious rain, take the main streets to the fitness center, spa, or restaurants. Don't take the shortcut through the pool area. Overall, this was a very enjoyable place to stay and I would recommend staying here

Must return

I travelled from a Relais & Chateaux property in the U.K. directly to the Old Edwards Inn so was able to see how the property and service levels compare. The champagne welcome at Old Edwards is a lovely touch, having the luggage delivered to your room is another. I stayed in a small cottage in the grounds of the lodge. It was extremely cold during my visit and it was difficult to maintain a median temp in the room. It was either roasting hot or freezing cold. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was nice but with wooden and stone floors throughout - the whole room needed it. The room itself was lovely, well decorated and cosy. There were a few items requiring maintenance - the privacy blinds on the door didn't work very well, but overall it was a high standard. The robe and slippers were very welcome for the cold mornings and the nespresso coffee machine excellent. All rooms should have one! The extra touches like cookies in your room and turn down service with nightly treats were much appreciated and another touch that just makes you feel more appreciated as a guest. Overall - I loved the Hotel, and the town itself. I definitely need to return and enjoy the spa facilities as this trip was purely business

Amazing Getaway!!

Let me just start by saying that my wife and I are in the hotel and restaurant business in Asheville, NC. Fine dining and guest satisfaction is our career, and the Old Edwards Inn is the best in the business. Nestled in a beautiful mountain village called Highlands, this hotel offers a Old World class and style with a modern touch to fit your lavish desires. The rooms are amazing. I highly recommend a suite if available. The have classic comfortable furnishings with nice touches like heated bathroom floors, fireplace, and jacuzzi. Great for a romantic getaway. The spa offers couples packages with a European style spa atmosphere. The lounge has amazing cocktails and a great bar selection. Let Jason make you a martini or whiskey cocktail, while Lanie provides impeccable service as you relax by the fire. Madison's was out of this world. Be sure to make a reservation. Spectacular wine list. The menu is exquisite with an Classic touch using local products such as quail, beef, and cheeses. Ask for Nicole, she is enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable. And remember during your stay if you need anything, talk to the front desk team, especially Michael. He made sure of our satisfaction with a personal touch on reservations, suggestions, etc... Thanks Old Edwards Inn Team we can't wait to return!
