Meet Carolyn Saturday, August 12, 10am - 4pm
Carolyn Goldsmith is a renowned Birmingham artist known for her figurative and abstract paintings. Her vibrant and dynamic work is primarily in mixed media on canvas. The work often is gestural, fluid and vital with freedom and balance greatly influenced by the artists of the Abstract Expressionist movement. Her work can be found in museum permanent collections, prominent corporate and private collections in this country and abroad. She is represented by several galleries, primarily in the southeastern United States. Carolyn was born in Gainesville, Florida and she graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She continued her studies in art at The University of Alabama, Huntington College, The University of the South, and The Art Institute of Chicago. She travels extensively, but lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama. She is married to an Episcopal priest and has three sons and four grandchildren.
