Rick has been working with Acorns on Church since 2013 following his retirement after a 34-year career as a Georgia State Department Health Care Administrator. Although he didn't take a traditional route to the decorating field, his love for the field and dedication to making sure his clients enjoy the process remain paramount. Rick's journey in field began in 2000 when he opened a retail space along with Tucker Antiques in Georgia. Since that time, he has expanded his knowledge, developed professional resources and taken advantage of many educational opportunities. His past projects have been in the Atlanta area, Highlands North Carolina and Sarasota Florida. His portfolio includes traditional, transitional and eclectic.Rick feels that it is vital that the he work hand in hand with you to create a space that reflects you. He loves to bring over items from Acorn's on Church to your home which allows you to better visualize the possible outcomes. This process is perfect for small projects but he is also meticulous with managing larger projects. Respect for the client's opinion and participation along with open communication throughout your special project are all variables which will make your experience enjoyable and produce an outcome that you will love.
Deborah has been working at Acorn's on Church since April of 2016 following a 10 year career with family owned, Black Bear Construction. While at Black Bear Construction, she was the sole designer for new home construction and renovations, responsible for helping her clients choose tile, flooring, counter tops, kitchen and bath fixtures, paint colors, lighting and furnishings, etc. She also provided home staging services for clients listing their homes for sale. With no formal training in design, Deborah considers this a God-given talent and continuously expands her knowledge while keeping up to date on the latest trends. As long as she can remember, she has had a love for antiques and design, always being asked to design the homes of family and friends expanding over the years to many clients in Highlands, Cashiers and Sapphire, NC. Her portfolio includes traditional design specializing in an eclectic casual mix of old and new. Deborah is now proud to be part of the Acorn's team and since her start here has helped many clients choose furnishings and accessories from the store ranging from one special piece to entire rooms. She provides in home consultations and her goal is to work closely with her clients guiding them through the process to transform their house into a home.
