RIB SHACK RESTAURANT AND OLD EDWARDS DRY CLEANERS TO REMAIN CLOSED,
“ROOFTOP TERRACE” TO OPEN IN SPRING AS ALFRESCO DINING VENUE
(Highlands, N.C.) Old Edwards Hospitality Group has made the difficult decision not to reopen the Rib Shack Restaurant or Old Edwards Dry Cleaners following the winter season as was previously planned. It also announces the opening of the Rooftop Terrace as an additional dining venue beginning in the spring. The Rooftop Terrace is located on top of the historic main Inn and overlooks Fourth Street. These decisions come as part of the ongoing assessment of the feasibility of the Old Edwards service outlets and venues for delivering its food and beverage offerings.
Old Edwards President Richard Delany says, “As we continue to look at growing the Old Edwards brand in positive and practical ways, we have to examine the performance of our existing offerings. While many of us in the community and at Old Edwards have an emotional attachment to the Rib Shack, after assessing its performance over the past three years, we made the decision not to reopen. With the addition of several new dining venues in town, and with the opening of the Rooftop Terrace, we felt like the timing was right for this move.”
The Rib Shack is undergoing some upgrades to better position it as a special events facility for the community visitors. Look for updates on the renovations in 2011.
