OLD EDWARDS INN AND SPA ANNOUNCES “LIFE IN BALANCE” MINI RETREATS
Atlanta-Based Ayurvedic Instructor Anna Russ Joins Spa Director Kyra Russell to Present the Sunday Afternoon Events from August 26-October 21, 2012
(Highlands, N.C.) Old Edwards Inn and Spa announces four full-immersion, two-hour mini retreats, designed to help participants learn about mindful eating, self care, stress reduction and to achieve rejuvenating sleep. The retreats are open to the public. Each retreat incorporates a mindful eating session with nourishing foods prepared by Old Edwards Executive Chef, Johannes Klapdohr.
The “Life In Balance” mini retreats are based on the principals of Ayurveda. Ayurveda (Ayur = life, Veda = knowledge) offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential. Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior and the proper use of our senses, Ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.

Spa Director Kyra Russell says, “We live in the perfect environment to provide these types of retreats. People come to the North Carolina Mountains for that indescribable feeling of connection to something deeper. It happens because nature effortlessly connects with us in ways we can only feel. She gives us what we need to feel the core of our true selves, stripping away the layers we have built on top of that. Nature helps us dissolve thoughts, distractions, and preconceived notions, and just open ourselves to what comes next.”
Ayurvedic practitioner Anna Russ adds, “With nature as our inspiration, we will flow through a series of four “Back in Balance” mini retreats. Experiencing one or more of the sessions will help you plant seeds and create a new awareness. Immersing yourself in all four will give you an innate understanding of how our bodies, minds and spirits work in harmony to create our own worlds. You will start to feel your own personal rhythm and flow. And the series in total will take you beyond the benefits of the four individual sessions.
