Sherry Owens Vice President-Financial Services
Owens joined Old Edwards Hospitality Group in February 2004 as accounting manager and assistant to the Controller and was promoted to Director of Financial Services July 2005. Her responsibilities include financial reporting for all nine of the Old Edwards Hospitality Group companies, overseeing accounts payable/ receivables and payroll. Owens’ other responsibilities include overseeing our purchasing and receiving department, located at the Old Edwards Inn Warehouse as well as our IT/MIS department.
Owens most recently spent five years with Gables Residential Services where she held positions such as an assistant property manager with Gables West Park Village located in Tampa, FL. and as regional/national accounting manager for the relocation department, Gables Corporate Accommodations in both Atlanta, GA. and Boca Raton, FL.
As a native of Highlands, NC Owens graduated from Highlands High School and continued her education at SouthWestern Community College in Sylva, N.C.

Courtney Roane Director of Operations
Roane joined Old Edwards Hospitality Group in September 2006 as Director of Food and Beverage. She was promoted to Director of Operations in November 2006. Her responsibilities will include overall management of rooms, food and beverage, security, laundry operations for the resort.
Ms. Roane was the former Director of Food and Beverage with Wyndham Inner Harbor, Baltimore. Prior to Wyndham, Ms. Roane served in executive positions with Intercontinental, Meristar, Omni, Hilton, Quorum Hotels, and recently Columbia Sussex Hotels and Casinos.
Ms. Roane began her career in Food and Beverage at the Boar’s Head Inn, Charlottesville, VA after graduating from J. Sergeant Reynolds College, Richmond, VA. She received training from some of the finest California Wineries. Roane was on the culinary team of the inaugural season for the Jacksonville Jaguars and she brings over 25 years of catering, restaurant and culinary operations experience to Old Edwards Inn. Ms. Roane is an active member in the Society of Chaine de Rotisseurs, National Association of Catering Executives, and American Culinary Federation.

Maria Trail, PHR Director of Human Resources
Trail joined Old Edwards Hospitality Group in November 2006. Trail brings strong employee relation skills to her position with Old Edwards. Her responsibilities will encompass recruiting, coordination of training programs and assurance of employee compliance with company policy. Counseling, training, development and monitoring of performance standards will also fall under her realm of responsibility.
With more than ten years in the hospitality industry, Ms. Trail most recently served as Director of Human Resources for the Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore, MD. She has also served in management roles at The Boulders Resort & Golden Door Spa in Carefree, AZ, The Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa in Telluride, CO and the Wyndham Myrtle Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She is a graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL and is affiliated with Hospitality Human Resources Association, Employee Services Management and the Society for Human Resources Management. |
