FOR OLD EDWARDS INN AND SPA AND THE LODGE AT OLD EDWARDS INN
Highlands, NC-- The Old Edwards Inn and Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Pamela A. Shepherd to the position of Regional Sales Manager for Old Edwards Inn and Spa and The Lodge at Old Edwards Inn.
Shepherd is Atlanta based and has had more than twenty years experience in the meeting/hospitality/sales arenas. She is currently President of Meeting Resources Inc., a full-service meeting resource company specializing in hotel representation. In her new role representing Old Edwards Inn and The Lodge, Shepherd will cover the Southeast market and will be responsible for booking meetings/groups into the properties.
Prior to opening her own company, Shepherd served as Director of Southeast Sales for a four-state territory with the LA Convention & Visitors Bureau. Prior to that she was Director of National Sales for Sentry Hospitality, also based in Atlanta, where she developed and implemented sales strategies for six resort conference centers. Shepherd has varied hotel-specific experience including two years as National Sales Manager for Omni Hotel Company, five years with Amway Hotel Corp. as Nationals Sales Manager for Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and Director of Sales for Peter Island Resort & Yacht Harbour in the British Virgin Islands. She was President of Distinctive Destinations, Inc., an international resort representation firm, for three years.
Among many prestigious industry certifications, licenses, associations and affiliations, Shepherd has served the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) SE since 2002 and is currently the President of that organization. She is also a 2006 “Allie Award Committee Chair” for the International Special Event Society (ISES). She has been an active member and leader in the Georgia Meeting Professionals International (GaMPI) organization since 1997 and served as the chapter’s Board Vice President of Membership for two years. She was nominated twice for PCMA’s “Chapter Leader of the Year” in 2003 and 2004 and she was named GaMPI’s “Supplier of the Year” in 2000. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Advertising.
