HIGHLANDS, NC--On Thursday evening, September 28, 2006, The Spa at Old Edwards Inn in the charming mountain town of Highlands, NC, proudly debuted the new Spa Amenities Building to the public, media and a few VIP visitors. More than 100 guests from the Highlands area and as far away as Atlanta attended the evening open house from 5:30 to 8:00PM. The event was co-hosted by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine.

Guests toured through the Spa Apothecary, Sanctuary and treatment rooms, the Hair Studio, Spa Terraces, Nap Room, Luxury Spa Suites as well as Men’s and Ladies Locker Rooms ending in the lovely Fireside Lounge where savory hors d’oeuvres and wines by-the-glass were passed. Guests finished the tour route and completed an entry card for a grand prize drawing of a deluxe spa gift basket and wonderful overnight package for two. The “It’s all about the two of you” package features:
Two nights’ deluxe accommodations at the Inn or The Lodge, Champagne arrival, welcome amenity and evening turndown, a gourmet Continental breakfast each morning, valet parking and for each of guest, a choice of two 50-minute treatments, and one 30-minute treatment. The package and gift basket are valued at more than $1, 500. Highlands resident Mrs. Nancy Greenfield was the winner of the package.

After touring, guests mingled in the Fireside Lounge enjoying the festive ambiance.

The new Spa Amenities Building was complete in early summer and adds more than 15,000 square feet to The Spa. Elegantly enhancing the lovely European-style luxury at The Spa, this expansion provides more options for treatment rooms, a Spa Cafe, and two additional exclusive Luxury Spa Suites with exceptional appointments and the finest details. Highlights also include: a breathtaking ladies locker room which is paneled in rare white cypress and a gentlemen’s locker room with handsome mahogany paneling and a full-service shaving station. Steam rooms, a ladies sauna, whirlpools, a spa solarium for relaxing between treatments, a nap-reflection room, and expanded Spa Terraces where guests may relax or dine al fresco complete the guest experience in the Spa Amenities Building.
