HIGHLANDS, NC-The Old Edwards Hospitality Group is pleased to announce that they have partnered with Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club to be presenting sponsors for the 2007 Peggy Crosby Center Golf Classic. The tournament will be held on October 8, 2007 at the prestigious Mountaintop Golf Course. Men’s and ladies teams are invited to compete and the cost per player will be $250.

Proceeds will benefit the Peggy Crosby Center and its mission to provide essential programs and services to the Highlands community. “Our fundraising needs are greater than ever as we strive to keep the non-profit rental rate below market minimum and provide quality programming to the community. Many of our tenant organizations would cease to exist if not for the affordable housing they enjoy at the Crosby Center,” says Board Chairman Pat McKeon.

At the heart of Mountaintop’s 731 acres is the Tom Fazio-designed golf course. The course flows seamlessly with the natural topography and takes full advantage of the challenges and beauty presented by Mountaintop's dramatic terrain, majestic hardwoods, natural springs and sweeping views. The result is a truly inspired Carolina mountain core-golf experience that deftly balances challenge and strategy with playability.

For a 3rd time, Old Edwards Hospitality Group will support the Golf Classic to provide important sponsorship. Mario Gomes, Old Edwards’ CEO and General Manager explains that their involvement offers a community-wide benefit: “We are delighted to support this important event which will hopefully raise vital funds for the Crosby Center to continue its community service.”

The Peggy Crosby Center is a non-profit community service center that makes it possible for more than a dozen non-profit organizations to exist and function under one roof. Current non-profit tenants include: Literacy Council, The Bookworm, Center for Life Enrichment, Early Head Start program, Highlands Cashiers Land Trust, the International Friendship Center, and the Jackson-Macon Conservation Alliance.
