September 2, 2005 - Old Edwards Inn and Spa Hosts Wrap Party for Second Annual Highlands International Film Festival at The Farm

HIGHLANDS, NC--On Saturday evening, August 27, The Farm at Old Edwards Inn was the backdrop for the festive conclusion to the second annual, week long Highlands International Film Festival. As presenting sponsors for the second year, Old Edwards Inn and Spa graciously hosted a crowd of about 100 guests in the restored Barn and adjacent event lawn at the Farm. An international theme and menu spotlighted the program of films from around the world.

Show tunes and paparazzi greeted guests as they ascended a red carpet and entered the venue. Servers in international costumes mingled with the crowd and presented a sumptuous buffet at several different stations, including an international cheese display, an Italian station, a French station, a German station, American and Asian stations. Chilled beer and fine wines accompanied colorful repast. At 9:15PM, Mario Gomes, CEO and General Manager of Old Edwards Inn and Spa welcomed guests and made a short speech to thank guests and other sponsors alike for their support of the Festival. Twinkling white lights and gardens in full bloom added to the magical setting.
 
Special guests at the Wrap Party included those associated with several films screened during the week. When making his announcements, Gomes acknowledged the success of this year’s Film Festival and reiterated the Old Edwards Inn’s commitment to culture and the community. “We are pleased to be able to align Old Edwards with events such as this that support the community creating art and cultural experiences for ourselves, our children and grandchildren.”
