August 30, 2005 - Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue Special Guest for VIP Reception at The Farm

HIGHLANDS, NC--On Friday evening, August 19, The Farm at Old Edwards Inn was the backdrop for a cocktail reception honoring Georgia’s Republican Governor Sonny Perdue. Old Edwards Inn and Spa owners, Angela and A.L. (Art) Williams were the evening’s principal hosts, while several other couples and individuals joined them as benefactors for the event.

While piano music flowed through the Barn and adjacent event lawn, guests mingled and enjoyed a sumptuous buffet, which included plentiful hors d’oeuvres, jumbo shrimp cocktail, tenderloin of beef, baked ham and assorted pastries and desserts. At 7:15PM, Governor Perdue welcomed guests and made a short speech to thank those who had come out to support him. More than 80 guests were in attendance at $1000 per couple.
